So you thought Kubify was just for large medical conferences with ePosters? In fact our creative customers have found many other valuable ways to use Kubify to support their work.
This article gives a few examples of how people are using Kubify’s flexible platform. We’re always happy to work with people who have interesting ideas for how to use the platform. Contact us if you’d like to find out more or if you have an idea that you’d like to discuss.
- Supporting student research projects
- Giving speakers a channel to share information

- Promoting community projects and engagement

Supporting student research projects
Universities are using Kubify’s Learning Toolbox to give their students a way to present and share their research project results. Traditionally these universities may have asked the students to present a paper poster or give a PowerPoint presentation, but now they are asking them to create a Kubify stack. This research project stack can then be:
- Used by the student to present their work to an audience
- Used by the student to share and showcase their work with others, including linking to in their CV or portfolio
- Used by the university within a library (the ePoster showcase) of previous research projects. This then gives new student researchers an easy way to find out what projects have previously been undertaken. And it allows them to more easily pick up and build on these previous projects, since the research stacks can contain much more information (e.g. surveys and tools used in the project).

Giving speakers control over what information is shared from their talk or workshop
It isn’t only ePoster authors who want to share their information and resources at conferences and events, other speakers often want to do the same. Some conferences are now offering their oral presenters and workshop organisers the option of using Kubify to create a stack containing the material that they want to share with delegates. They can simply show the stack QR code onscreen at the end of their talk or email the stack link to all their talk/workshop participants.
It gives the speaker control over what to include, reduces the workload of responding to “Can you email me your presentation/paper/survey?” questions and gives the speaker the option to continue to use the stack as a communication channel with their audience beyond the conference.

Helping association members get to know each other and promoting their work
The Meetings and Events Support Association (MESA) was looking for a way to highlight the great work that their members do. They wanted to share this information both with members (so they could look for collaboration opportunities) and also with the wider events sector (to help promote their member’s services and products). But they were very aware that each member would want to have control over the presentation of their work, they would want to be able to add their branding, choose what information and resources to include and to be able to easily keep it up-to-date.
So MESA choose to use Kubify and each MESA member creates a Kubify stack that presents their work. These are all accessible from the MESA showcase and the members can update them whenever they want. MESA uses the showcase to promote the MESA members work both on their website and live at Trade Shows.

Supporting placement learning
Placement learning is particularly important in healthcare and construction learning, and Kubify is being used to support this. Placement learning is where the student/trainee undertakes all or part of their learning at the workplace rather than in classrooms.
In healthcare student nurses and doctors usually have to complete a series of different placements in different healthcare settings. Kubify is being used by the healthcare settings to create a stack of onboarding information for the students who will be arriving for their short placements. The stack’s link can be sent to students before their start their placement and the QR code can be prominently displayed at the location as well. In the stack the students can find all the information they need relevant to this placement. This helps them to feel prepared, having everything they need ahead of time and in their pocket.
In construction apprentices often have to undertake new techniques at the workplace and are asked to send evidence of having done that back to their training organisation. Construction training companies are using Kubify to support this activity. The teacher will prepare a stack of learning material related to the skills the apprentices need to develop and practice. The students can then use that stack onsite both to remind themselves what to do and also to upload to the stack the evidence (photos or videos) that they have undertaken the skill during the placement.

Sharing guidelines and analytics to help improve healthcare
We are all overloaded with email nowadays and no one more so than healthcare professionals. If new guidelines and best practices are only emailed out to managers then it can be difficult to ensure that this valuable information gets more widely spread and read by all the healthcare staff working in the organisation. One regional network of GP practices (family doctors) is using Kubify to help with this information sharing.
They have chosen to focus on the prescribing of antibiotics, creating a Kubify stack that contains the most recent guidelines and best practices related to this, as well as benchmarking reports. The reports and guidelines in the stack are updated monthly. The link to the stack is emailed out to managers, but in addition the summary poster with the stack’s QR code is printed and posted to the managers, so that they can display this small summary poster on the staff room wall. All healthcare professionals working in that organisation therefore will have easy access to the information by simply scanning the QR code on that poster and the information they get will always be up-to-date.

Promoting and sharing community project information to increase understanding and engagement
Community projects typically involve a small group of the people living in a particular community. One challenge is always how to get the messages out to the wider community and how to encourage them to also get involved. Typically this might involved printing flyers and posting them through hundreds of doors. Time consuming, somewhat wasteful and not always effective. An alternative that several projects are exploring is to use Kubify to give easy access to the community project information in the most relevant locations.
For example, an urban, community orchard project and a fruit growing social enterprise have both created Kubify stacks that introduce the community project, explain how people can get involved and share useful resources and advice. The QR codes for these stacks are then prominently displayed in the orchards themselves so that those passing by can easily find out more about the orchard, the project, the people involved and how they can also take part.
These are just a few of the interesting, creative ways that we know Kubify is being used. If you have an idea yourself or want to find out more then just let us know.
