Diego Jazanovich (Lead for Dental Education, Universidad Finis Terrae) shared with us his experience of using Kubify to make his conference ePosters. His insightful reflections highlighted not just the benefits he saw in Kubify, but also the ways in which thoughtful use of ePosters at conferences can lead to a much more valuable experience for authors and delegates. Watch the 4 minute overview below.
In the interview, Diego highlights what authors and delegates would like from a conference (poster) presentation, including having the flexibility to showcase the work using the most appropriate resources, support for human connections and benefits that go beyond the conference itself. His reflections raise questions and issues that are worth all conference organisers considering, when planning their poster sessions.
What did Diego find incredible about using Kubify?
“What I valued most wasn’t any single feature, but building in tiers. A fifteen-second teaser for someone scrolling in a busy poster hall, a one-minute video abstract for the curious passer-by, the traditional PDF abstract for anyone who wants something citable, then a much longer presentation underneath for the deep reader. A paper poster forces you to choose between depth and accessibility.
The stack let me serve everyone from the same place. I also used the abridged deck as my actual live presentation in the three-minute slot, so the stack wasn’t separate from my talk. It carried it.
And I cross-linked the two posters so each pointed to the other. Probably my favourite thing about the format: my work behaved like a small portfolio rather than two disconnected files.”
