In 2022 Kubify signed the Net Zero Carbon Events pledge. We did this as we recognise the destructive impact of climate change and want to play our part in reducing that through minimising the impact of our own activities, both as a company and as individuals. We feel strongly that everyone has a role to play in solving this problem.
So over the last few years we have been tracking our carbon footprint and identifying ways that we can reduce it. We are very grateful to the Net Zero Carbon Events initiative which has shared resources and support with everyone to help with this endeavor.
To measure our own journey we have taken 2019 as our baseline year (since this year was not affected by the pandemic) and we have taken 2023 as our first comparable year (since this year was also largely unaffected by the pandemic).
The report below summarises our progress on reducing Kubify’s carbon footprint and we also then identify the actions we have taken that have helped and the further actions we will be taking to reduce our footprint even further.
We’re delighted that we have already managed to reduce our carbon footprint by 67% compared to our baseline.
However, we know we can do even more both to further reduce our own emissions and also to help our clients to reduce theirs (by highlighting the most sustainable ways to use Kubify). So our next targets are focusing on:
- measuring and reducing the carbon footprint related to our marketing activities
- producing guidelines for our customers comparing the sustainability impacts associated with different ways of using Kubify
- identifying appropriate and effective offsetting activities with the aim of becoming carbon neutral by 2026.
